Dr. Richard Neil graduated from the Loma Linda (California) School of Medicine in 1964 and is certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine as a preventive medicine specialist. Dr. Neil has practiced general medicine for many years before and after being certified as a specialist. In addition, he has been a professor in the School of Public Health at Loma Linda University and was the assistant Director of Health for Riverside County (California).

He brings over 35 years of medical practice in both general family medicine and preventive medicine to his practice of bariatric (obesity) medicine. He has treated over 6,000 patients for the problems of overweight and associated ills. Because of his extensive medical background and experience he is able to answers questions from patients during their visits for weight control about many of their general other health concerns which, while not directly associated with being overweight, do affect their general health.
